Peridot is a mesmerising gemstone known for its vivid green colour and captivating sparkle. It is a variety of the mineral olivine and belongs to the silicate mineral group. With its distinctive lime-green hue, peridot is often associated with nature and symbolises growth, abundance, and renewal.

Peridot has a rich history that stretches back thousands of years. Ancient Egyptians called it the “gem of the sun” and believed it had protective and healing properties. It was highly prized and used to adorn royal jewellery, including the famous Cleopatra emerald collection. In Hawaiian culture, peridot is believed to be the tears of the volcano goddess, Pele.
