Baroque Pearls
Baroque pearls are distinctive, irregularly shaped pearls, celebrated for their unique, natural forms. Unlike the classic round pearls, baroque pearls exhibit a range of asymmetrical shapes, from teardrop to oval, with each one being individual in appearance. These pearls are formed by molluscs in the same way as round pearls, but their irregularity arises from unusual growth conditions or disruptions during their development. Often found in both freshwater and saltwater varieties, baroque pearls can display a lustrous, colourful surface, with hues ranging from creamy whites to deep purples and blues. Their eclectic beauty makes them highly prized in jewellery, offering a bold and elegant alternative to more traditional pearl designs.
